North Beach

A must-see when in Racine County!

Thanks to a community-wide initiative, North Beach became Wisconsin's first beach to be designated as a Certified Blue Wave clean beach by the National Clean Beaches Coalition in 2004. North Beach also was Wisconsin's first beach to install a Mobi Mat in 2010, a non-slip mat that allows persons with disabilities to enjoy the beach. Also that year, Racine County joined Orange County, California, as the first locations in the country to utilize rapid molecular testing, which provides results within two hours of sample delivery to the lab.

North Beach has received many national accolades including "Best Beach in Wisconsin" (, 2021), voted #4 in "Best Freshwater Beach" (USA Today, 2016), best Wisconsin beach in "51 Great American Beaches" (USA Today, 2012), "Top 10 Family Friendly Beaches" (Parents magazine, 2011), "Dr. Beach's Top Beaches on the Third Coast" (Dr. Stephan Leatherman, 2011), and "Top City Beach" (Midwest Living magazine, 2010).

Come and spend the day on 50 acres of pristine sand and blue water located a few blocks from downtown Racine. Enjoy concessions and catch live music under the palm trees at the Beachside Oasis during the summer months. A community of volunteers built the adjacent Kid's Cove nautical-themed playground. Sand volleyball, a picnic area, and bathhouse/restrooms are also available.

Lifeguards are on duty daily from the first week of June through the last week of August. There's free parking in designated lots or along nearby streets.

North Beach has been home to many special events including EVP Professional Beach Volleyball, Ironman 70.3 Racine triathlon, and the Bikes, Boards 'n Beach Series.
