Terrific Music to Come in RSO’s 92nd Season!
The Racine Symphony Orchestra (RSO) was originally created by our founder, Fredrick Schulte, in 1932. The RSO exists to ENRICH, EDUCATE and ENTERTAIN our communities through the power of music. This season, we are proud to carry on our rich tradition by offering yet another terrific roster of musical performances to our community!
In August, for the first time in 15 years, Lakeside Pops will feature music from great film scores such as Indiana Jones, Lawrence of Arabia, Vertigo, The Avengers, The Incredibles, Star Wars, The Mission, and many more. We’ll then feature the stunningly virtuosic Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Principal Bassoonist Catherine Van Handel at our Fall Masterworks concert. RSO is excited to bring back Racine’s high school choirs to celebrate with magical holiday music and sing-a-long’s for our most popular concert of the year, Holiday Pops. This concert will also feature the superlative soprano Colleen Brooks.
After the new year, Racine Symphony Orchestra focuses on area youths with our Young Artist Competition and educational concerts catering to fifth graders. Our final concert in April is all about big, sweeping emotions. We welcome to Racine the brilliant pianist Einav Yarden from Berlin, Germany to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, aptly nicknamed the “Emperor Concerto.” We’re also excited for the return of our Musical Flights Series including short performances by some of the RSO’s musicians along with wine tastings and casual chamber music at downtown Racine’s Uncorkt!
